Marriage Preparation

For anyone preparing to be married in the parish, we provide the opportunity to explore issues such as: expressing feelings, the importance of commitment, resolving conflict, keeping love alive, developing a fulfilling sexual relationship, and goals and values.

We want to help you build strong foundations to give your marriage the best possible start.

The Marriage Course

Marriage Course Banner

The Marriage Course is for any couple, whether you have been together for one year or 61 years and whether you feel you have a strong relationship or are struggling. If you have a strong marriage this course will help you make it even better and will reinforce your good habits. If on the other hand your marriage is in difficulty, the course will help provide you with very practical tools to help you work through the issues.

There is never any group work and you will never be asked to share anything about your relationship with anyone other than your partner.

Why do the course?

  • Regular check-ups help a car run smoothly and reduce the risk of breakdown.
  • The best sports professionals spend hours being coached and perfecting their technique.
  • The greatest achievements in life take practice, training and dedication.

It is the same with marriage. A strong, loving and lifelong relationship doesn’t happen by chance. It takes effort and dedication to keep the fun and romance alive. We can all learn how to make even the happiest marriage better.
While The Marriage Course is based on Christian principles, it is designed for couples with or without a Christian faith.

The Parenting Teenagers
Course is for any parents, step-parents, or carers of children aged 11 – 18 years.

Why do the course?

  • Parenting teenagers is harder than ever for most parents today
  • No role we undertake in life is more important than parenting

We are the main influence on our teenagers’ future. Discovering we are not alone in the challenges we face and picking up ideas from other parents can make a huge difference. Meeting our teenagers’ deepest needs, setting healthy boundaries, helping to develop their emotional health and teaching them how to make good choices takes skill and dedication. Taking time to reflect on our end goal can help us to build our relationship with our teenagers now.
