The next monthly prayer meeting to pray for the parish will be held on Thursday 29th March at Keith & Janet’s house, 37 Woodland Road. Starting with coffee at 7pm, followed by prayer for about an hour. All welcome and we would love to see you there.


Any donations are welcome towards the cost of flowers. We are also seeking any groups who would be willing to decorate a windowsill, from 3pm onwards on Good Friday or the Saturday. Please let Margaret Taylor know in advance.


If you are not the type to be fazed by catering for 9 people, please do consider cooking for one meeting of the Alpha course. Sign up sheet at the back of church or see Andy Giles or Hannah Wallace. Thank you!


If your name is on the church electoral roll, you are a confirmed member of this church, you are eligible to vote for members of the PCC or stand to be elected onto it. If you would like to join, please complete a form from the back of church and hand to Alan or the church office.


We will be going to St Mary’s Allithwaite for our Away Day on Saturday 28th April from 10am-4pm. There will be activities for children and we will be organising catering. Please put this date in your diary and put your name on the list at the back of church. It will be a great opportunity to spend time relaxing together and discerning God’s vision for the church.


A reminder that every volunteer should complete training Level C0 and C1. Online: Please present your certificate either to me or the office. Weekly Giving Envelopes for the new tax year are ready for collection from the back of Church and in St Johns. You should have the same number as last time. Any problems, or if you wish to convert to giving by bank standing order please see Anthony Bryson 587513, or


Andy and Jo are delighted to confirm that Andy will be ordained in Leicester Cathedral on 1st July and will become a Curate in Market Harborough. Please pray for the family as they make their plans.


Brian & Celia Bull will be celebrating their Golden Wedding next Saturday the 24th at 3pm in Church with a short service of rededication, followed by refreshments. If you would like to join the celebration you are very welcome.


Joyce Greenwood, our Parish Safeguarding Officer, gave a presentation on safeguarding.

Quotes are being obtained to resurface the car park.

The PCC has responded to Cumbria County Council about the proposed parking restrictions along Church Walk.

Church members will be contacted shortly about the new General Data Protection Regulations.

A small working party has been looking at improving our communications. Part of this will include Brian Bull re-developing the church website.


During Lent, we will be following these themes on Sundays and in midweek groups:

18th March – Hearing Stories (Exodus 3:1-6)

25th March – Our Story (Numbers 13:17-33)

God of every moment, help us to recognise and value the rhythms of life. Show us how to stand alongside those who face disruption and broken rhythms. Teach us to align our time with yours, so that when the right time comes for us, it does not pass us by. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
